Pick 'n Save Joins with Milwaukee Bucks, Second Harvest for PB&J Challenge

MILWAUKEE -- Elementary school students here "stuck it to each other," so to speak, in the name of helping feed the hungry in the fifth annual Peanut Butter and Jelly Challenge Games event last week.

Designed to get the school kids enthused about collecting peanut butter and jelly to help feed hungry children in the metro Milwaukee market, the PB&J Challenge pitted competing students teams in skill tests such as a peanut butter and jelly obstacle course, jelly bottle bowling, a peanut butter jar stacking contest, a peanut-on-a-spoon relay, a relay where students carried a peanut butter jar between their knees and more.

Adults are also encouraged to participate by buying peanut butter and jelly and dropping the jars in the barrels at participating Pick 'n Save stores. All jars collected in the drive, which runs through Oct 26, will be donated to America's Second Harvest. Schools collecting the most peanut butter and jelly during the month of October are eligible for prizes and will be honored at halftime of the Milwaukee Bucks game on Nov. 6.

Roundy's Supermarkets, Inc. operates 153 retail grocery stores under the Pick 'n Save, Copps and Rainbow banners in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois.
