P&G, IBM in $400 Million Human Resources Pact
NEW YORK - International Business Machines Corp. today announced it has agreed to take over some human resources tasks from consumer products company Procter & Gamble Co. in a 10-year, $400 million deal, Reuters reports. P&G has been working to cut costs by transferring services to outside companies.
Some 800 employees of Cincinnati-based P&G will get job offers from IBM, which will handle compensation, payroll, benefits, administration and employee services for nearly 98,000 P&G workers.
IBM, the world's largest provider of computer services, often takes on employees in such contracts. The agreement is expected to take effect on Jan. 1.
