Perdue Issues Recall for 'Perfect Portions' Chicken on Milk Allergen

HORSHAM, Pa. -- Perdue Farms here said it recalled 1,716 cases of 28.8 ounce Perdue Perfect Portions Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts because of an undeclared milk allergen.

The only Perdue Perfect Portions products affected by this recall are those with the UPC (bar code) 72745-06819 appearing on the back of the package, the company said.

The recalled product has the establishment number "EST. P-7903" inside the USDA mark of inspection on the front of the bag. Each label also has a "Sell or Freeze By" date of Feb. 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 on the back of the bag.

All Natural, Italian Style, Tomato Basil, Teriyaki, Herb and Pepper, and Roasted Garlic with White Wine Perdue varieties of Perfect Portions were unaffected by the recall, as were products sold at Wal-Mart, the company said.

The Italian Style chicken breasts were erroneously packed in a Perfect Portions bag that says “Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts,” with no flavor designated. The Italian Style items contain a milk allergen that was not declared on the bag used.

There have been no reports of illness associated with the product, according to Perdue Farms.
