Peapod Extends Service to Over 40 Northeast Communities
Peapod by Stop & Shop, the top e-grocer serving New England, New York and New Jersey, has added more than 40 communities to its home and business delivery service, which is currently accessible to over 8 million households in the Northeast.
The expansion considerably increases service to the metropolitan New York area, with deliveries available to the entire borough of Queens, large sections of Staten Island, and several Brooklyn neighborhoods, as well as Jersey City, Bayonne and Hoboken, N.J. Several shore locations have also been added, among them Eastham, Mass., and Long Beach Island, N.J., enabling more vacationers to take advantage of shopping over the Internet.
According to Peg Merzbacher, director of marketing for Peapod, wholly owned subsidiary of Amsterdam-based Royal Ahold, “This expansion effort is in direct response to consumer requests.”
Skokie, Ill.-based Peapod serves the metro areas of Boston, Chicago, Hartford, Milwaukee, New Haven, Providence and Washington, D.C.; suburban New York City; and communities in the states of Connecticut, Indiana, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Virginia and Wisconsin.
