Peapod Adds Chicago Restaurant Favorites to Delivery Lineup

Internet grocer Peapod has new offerings to add to its Chicago’s Best aisle, which features a group of leading restaurant brand-name products not available in typical supermarkets.

Chicagoans can purchase their favorite restaurant foods like Bob Chinn’s Alaskan King crab legs, Francesca’s pasta sauce, Mity Nice Grill hamburgers and Foodlife spices. These join already successful Chicago’s Best items, including Wildfire steaks and side dishes, Lou Malnati’s pizza, Carson’s ribs, and Eli’s cheesecake.

“The Chicago’s Best aisle offers our customers a variety of choices ranging from Big Bowl to Charlie Trotter’s,” said Peapod VP merchandising Tony Stallone. “We also know our customers rely on Peapod’s convenience, and the Chicago’s Best aisle allows our customers to stock up on their restaurant favorites.”

Bob Chinn, owner of Bob Chinn’s Crab House, added: “As one of the nation’s highest-grossing restaurants, we are always looking for new avenues for our products. Peapod has been delighting customers in the Chicagoland area for years.”

Founded in 1989, Peapod serves 23 U.S. markets in communities in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Maryland, Virginia, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey and the District of Columbia. The Skokie, Ill.-based company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Ahold.
