PBH Unveils Pinterest Consumer Challenge

To help celebrate “Fruits & Veggies—More Matters” month, Produce for Better Health Foundation (PBH) has created a Freshen Up & Pin Up challenge. From Sept. 1-30, consumers can pin photos of their plates, bowls, etc., on PBH’s Pinterest board to show how they ‘freshened up’ a meal or snack by making half of it fruit and veggies.

One grand-prize winner, who will receive $1,500, and four first-place winners, who each will receive $250, will be revealed on Oct 1. The winners will be decided based on the total combined number of likes and re-pins of the top five pins.

"The Freshen Up & Pin Up consumer challenge is a fun and easy way for everyone to eat more fruit and vegetables while celebrating Fruits & Veggies—More Matters month," said Elizabeth Pivonka, Ph.D., president and CEO of PBH. "We’ve created a marketing toolkit filled with graphics, copy for newsletters and websites, and sample social media posts for our donors, supporters, and network of health professionals to help us promote the challenge.”

Information about the challenge will appear in the July, August and September issues of PBH Direct!, and teasers will begin to appear on FruitsAndVeggiesMoreMatters.org and in social media channels in July.

Founded in 1991, PBH is a non-profit education foundation that works to motivate consumers to eat more fruits and vegetables to improve public health.
