Paul Singer, Former Supervalu CIO, Dies

Paul Singer, former CIO and SVP for Supervalu and former CIO and SVP for Target Corp., passed away peacefully at his home in Eden Prairie, Minn., June 11 following a 19-month battle with brain cancer. He was 56 years old.

Singer was also a board member of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, board member of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI), board member of Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Solutions (VICS), member of The Research Board, board member of the Joint Council on International Children’s Services (JCICS) and co-founder of the Retail Orphan Initiative.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Teri; children Lisa (Aaron) Martin, Rachel, Natasha, Svetlana and Angela; grandchildren Blake, Sophie and Alison; mother, Jessie Mae Singer; sister, Patricia (Roy) Hulehan; brother, Ray Singer; and nephews.

A memorial celebration will be held Friday, June 25, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour before at Wooddale Church, 6630 Shady Oak Road in Eden Prairie. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Steven Curtis Chapman’s adoption foundation, Show Hope, at www.showhope.org.
