Pathmark Rolls Out BIG SAVE

Pathmark today introduced the “BIG SAVE” at all 144 of its stores, a price-slashing promotion that offers “unbelievable savings throughout all departments, as well as great prize giveaways,” according to the chain.

The grocer’s existing in-store value programs are driven by the “4 Ways to Save” price program and spotlighted by thousands of Yellow Tags throughout the store. 4 Ways to Save includes a limited selection of Power Price items, which Pathmark terms “absolutely the best deals of the week.” Shoppers will also find Yellow Tag weekly price specials throughout the store, as well as thousands more items on Price Hold, guaranteeing the same price from week to week for an extended time. Additionally, by buying Pathmark’s store brands, including America’s Choice and Smart Price, shoppers can save 25 percent or more, vs. comparable national brand products.

The BIG SAVE, however, provides unprecedented deals above the regular values the chain offers, including special prices on bonus packs, and deals on groceries, fresh produce, seafood, meats and other items.

Pathmark is also running a special BIG SAVE Sweepstakes with prizes for four winners, including two Panasonic Viera 50-inch televisions, a year of free groceries and the ultimate grand prize, a Mini Cooper convertible car.

To mark the limited-time event, Pathmark stores will engage in such celebratory activities as product sampling and giveaways.

Pathmark is part of the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co.’s slate of supermarkets. Montvale, N.J.-based A&P operates 444 stores in eight states and the District of Columbia under such banners as A&P, Waldbaum's, Best Cellars, The Food Emporium, Super Foodmart, Super Fresh and Food Basics.
