Pathmark Announces Organizational Changes

CARTERET, N.J. - Pathmark Stores Inc. on Wednesday announced several organizational changes designed to further strengthen the company in the area of operations and merchandising.

Effective November 4, 2001, Eileen Scott will become Executive Vice President of Store Operations. Scott is currently Executive Vice President of Merchandising and Logistics with 32 years of experience at Pathmark. She will continue to report to Pathmark's Chairman and CEO, Jim Donald.

Art Whitney, Senior Vice President of Non-Perishable Merchandising, will be promoted to Executive Vice President of Merchandising and Logistics, assuming Scott's responsibilities. Whitney has been with Pathmark for 35 years, holding numerous positions within the company's merchandising department.

Laura Jurkowich, Director of Category Management, will become Vice President of Grocery Merchandising, replacing Whitney. Jurkowich has been with Pathmark for 30 years, also holding numerous positions in the merchandising area.

Commenting on the changes in responsibility, Pathmark Chairman and CEO Jim Donald said, "These moves take advantage of the wealth of experience which these associates have with Pathmark. Their operational and merchandising expertise will enable Pathmark to continue focusing on the most important aspects of our business."
