Pamida Names Rothamel President/CEO
Paul E. Rothamel, interim c.e.o. of Omaha-based 207-store regional retailer Pamida, Inc. since November, has been named president and c.e.o. of the grocer.
Rothamel joined Pamida in 1999, and most recently was the chain's s.v.p. of operations. Before that, Rothamel was regional v.p. of Shopko Stores, and held store management positions with Target Corp., and store and merchandise management positions with Venture Stores.
Owned by private investment firm Sun Capital Partners, Inc., Pamida operates stores in 16 Midwestern states. It carries a wide variety of merchandise including groceries, apparel, home electronics, domestics, seasonal items, toys, and housewares. Pamida also operates pharmacies in 136 of its stores, offering a 24-hour automated prescription refill phone line, free blood pressure checks, and free prescription mail-out service.
