Ohio Grocers Promoting HoneyBaked Hams for the Holidays

Central Ohio supermarket shoppers will once again be able to purchase HoneyBaked brand ham in this year in select Kroger locations, while Cincinnati-area customers can do the same by visiting all of Supervalu's Bigg's grocery stores.

For many people, the Ohio-based HoneyBaked Hams are a centerpiece of tasteful holiday tabletops and this year average about four dollars per person, per serving.

To help customers plan their holiday gathering and minimize stress, the Cincy-based ham purveyor features planning tips on a dedicated Web site during the five weeks leading up to the holiday season -- from table setting tips to shopping lists to recipes that complement ham.

The company this year is also featuring the Holiday Leftover Ham Recipe Contest, which will enlist participants to visit the Web site and submit their best recipe for leftover holiday ham. The winner will receive a free lunch for each week of 2009. Entries will be accepted through Dec. 24, and the grand prize winner will be announced Jan. 16, 2009.
