October is ‘Pinktober’ in Market Street’s Breast Cancer Fundraising Campaign

Market Street has joined the fight against breast cancer with a new month-long promotion to raise money for breast cancer research when shoppers purchase specially marked products throughout the store.

In the promotion, called “Motor Through Pinktober,” participating grocery partners have agreed to donate a percentage of the proceeds from product sales or a flat donation amount to support breast cancer research and awareness.

“We’re using ‘Motor Through Pinktober’ as a platform to bring added awareness to the ongoing battle against breast cancer,” said Randy Crimmins, VP, marketing at Frisco, Texas-based parent company United Supermarkets, LLC. “This October promotion is a great way to shop for those specialty items, gourmet products and healthy produce you love, and feel good knowing that a percentage of the proceeds are going to support those breast cancer patients and survivors that need it most.”

To coincide with the promotion, Market Street is selling Pinktober reusable bags with a percentage of the proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and other organizations working to find the cures for breast cancer. Two pink bags can be purchased for $3 at all Market Street locations while supplies last.

Additionally, each Market Street location is giving away a pink Retro Lance Moped Scooter, with P&G and Coca-Cola acting as co-sponsors, and throughout October, the banner will make a donation to help defeat breast cancer when shoppers add pink gravy to their hot-food orders.

United Supermarkets operates 50 stores under the United Supermarkets, Market Street and Amigos United banners.
