Norkus Foodtown Upgrades POS For Better Customer Service

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, N.J. -- Regional independent grocer Norkus Foodtown plans to upgrade the point-of-sale systems in all six of its stores to provide better service to its customers.

The retailer will work with NCR RealPartner ACME Retail Systems -- the reseller responsible for the sale -- to install and maintain the solution, which includes NCR RealPOS 80c terminals with the DynaKey operator interface, as well as NCR RealScan bi-optic scanners.

"Our number-one priority is and has always been customer satisfaction," said Bert Eichhorn, Norkus Foodtown's manager of information technology. "By investing in technology that will make the checkout process as efficient as possible, we are better able to deliver a positive shopping experience for our customers."

Introduced in 2002, the NCR RealPOS 80c has been installed at nearly 100,000 checkout stations worldwide. Coupled with the intuitive DynaKey operator interface and the NCR RealScan 75 scanner, this solution is designed to maximize cashier accuracy and minimize training time.
