Niemann Foods’ County Market Launches Mobile App
Niemann Foods has partnered with Birdzi to introduce a mobile app to the retailer’s County Market customers. The Quincy-based grocer uses Birdzi’s Shopper Engagement platform to offer shoppers personalized offers and in-store services, and Niemann is one of the first independent retailers to use iBeacon technology in the store.
The technology is currently available in eight County Market locations, but the company plans to roll it out to all 45 stores by Q2 of this year. Since the initial test launch, thousands of customers have downloaded the app, which is offered on both iOS and Android platforms. The app allows Niemann to reach shoppers with “right time and place” customized offers, which has led to higher-than-industry-average mobile app retention rates and in-store shopper engagement.
The Birdzi Shopper Engagement platform includes in-store location technology and analytics to help customers locate specific products they have placed on their shopping lists. The County Market app also is linked to the retailer’s shopper loyalty program, which creates and manages campaigns to add shopper value, promotes products and maximizes shopper traffic.
“We selected the Birdzi platform because of the breadth of the platform’s capabilities and the affordability of such a turnkey retail solution,” said Ron Cook, VP and director of marketing, Niemann Foods. “We now have a complete target marketing solution that our customers have fully embraced as part of their shopping experience in our County Market stores.”
