NGA to Launch Cash Confab for Indies
The National Grocers Association is joining forces with FMS Solutions on an educational conference for members of the independent grocery retail industry.
Scheduled for Oct. 10 to 12 at the Hyatt Regency in Sacramento, Calif., the Financial Management Conference is geared towards owners/operators, presidents, CFOs and VPs or directors of operations. The interactive educational program will be tailored to independent grocery operators, offering workshops such as “Economy: What Should I Expect Next Year,” “Discover Hidden Deductions,” “New Markets Tax Credits,” “Access to Credit/Financing” and “Ease Your Tax Burden.”
"We are excited to offer our members a program that focuses specifically on the financial needs of the independent retailer; providing them with practical ideas to grow their business,” said Peter Larkin, NGA president and CEO. “Family-owned and -operated businesses play an important role in the development of the grocery industry, and joining forces with a loyal partner like FMS Solutions allows us to address the unique challenges and opportunities independent retailers and operators face.”
The focus of the conference is to help retailers improve their financial status and position their companies for growth. A special emphasis will be placed on preparing organizations to increase their store count with a three-part session, “Preparing Your Company for Growth.”
“This conference will gather independent operators from across the country to provide industry-best practices and reveal exciting new opportunities to take advantage of both immediately and throughout 2012,” said Mark Ehleben, FMS Solutions VP of sales and marketing. “We are also very proud to have the National Grocers Association and their wealth of expertise involved with this conference.”
The Financial Management Conference will be held in cooperation with the California Grocers Association, Arizona Food Marketing Alliance, Utah Food Industry Association, Northwest Grocery Association and Washington Food Industry Association. The NGA member registration will be extended to members of these organizations.
This conference is sponsored by the Food Partners, Pan-Oston Co., Cost Seg Associates and BGBC.
