NFRA Hires Member Communications Coordinator
The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) has appointed Natalie Markle to the newly created position of member communications coordinator. In her new role, Markle will market member resources and events, develop and maintain an online and social media presence for members, and engage members in the trade organization's public relations and promotion efforts.
In 2013, NFRA and Edelman PR agency teamed on a long-term PR campaign to communicate the benefits of frozen and refrigerated foods to consumers, necessitating a bigger staff.
"Natalie brings new talents and a fresh perspective to the table as we expand our communication efforts on behalf of the industry," said NFRA VP of Communications Julie Henderson.
Markle graduated in May 2013 from Cabrini College, in Radnor, Pa., with a BS in marketing and concentration in advertising. While a student, she became a member of the National Honor Society for Business, Management and Administration, and worked for the college’s Health Services Center, where she helped with campus events, newsletters, bulletin boards and student recruitment.
Before joining NFRA, Markle worked for two engineering firms as a marketing assistant, in which she handled website updates, proposal submissions, database organization and project leads. Alongside her marketing positions, she was a front end supervisor at Target, where she honed her managerial and customer service skills.
A nonprofit trade association representing all segments of the frozen and refrigerated foods industry, Harrisburg, Pa.-based NFRA is the sponsor of March National Frozen Food Month, June Dairy Month, the June/July Ice Cream & Novelties promotion, and the October Cool Food for Kids educational outreach program.
