NFRA Elects New Leadership

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) here has elected officers and members for its board of directors for 2006-2007.

John Bottomley, director of sales, Sargento Foods, Inc., has been elected chairman of the board. Bottomley has played a key role in expanding the refrigerated segment of the association, as vice chairman of refrigerated from 2002-2005, and as chairman-elect from 2005-2006.

Other officers sworn in at the association's 62nd annual meeting were: John Annetta, White Rose Frozen Food Co., chairman-elect; Gary Spinazze, Bozzuto's, Inc., secretary; Ray Tarnowski, Philadelphia Warehouse & Cold Storage, treasurer; Jeff Thomas, Michael Foods, Inc., vice chairman refrigerated; and Jim O'Sullivan, Schwan's Bakery, Inc., vice chairman frozen.

Newly elected to the board of directors were: Brian Carboneau, Welch's Foods; Joe D'Alberto, Acosta Sales & Marketing; Alan Hoover, Kahiki Foods, Inc.; John Larsen, Safeway, Inc.; Robert Montgomery, Birds Eye Foods, Inc.; Jeff Nelson, Co-Sales Company; Cheryl Sturgeon, Jefferson County Public Schools; and Shawn Welch, Kellogg Company.

Elected for a second term on the board were: Robert Branham, General Mills; Nate Fisher, Ingles Markets; Michael Hayes, Sara Lee Food & Beverage; Travis Hubbard, Harris Teeter, Inc.; Greg Mertes, Wal-Mart Super Centers; Michael O'Keefe, Advantage Sales & Marketing; and Scott Rouse, Tyson Foods, Inc.
