NEW Summit Leadership Event Adds 'Trailblazing Women' Panel

DALLAS -- A panel of "trailblazing women" will share their insights at this year's Network of Executive Women Leadership Summit, October 15-16 here.

The panel will include Lynn Marmer, group v.p./corporate affairs, Kroger Co., Melody Justice, e.v.p./business transformation, Coca-Cola Co.; and Regenia Stein, area v.p./Central Region, Kraft Foods.

Each of the women is featured in a soon-to-be-released book, "The NEW Woman Rules," written by Fawn Germer, who will moderate the executive exchange.

More than 400 senior consumer products and retail executives and emerging leaders are expected at NEW's sixth annual summit.

New to this year's summit is a "Retail Safari" store tour that will take place on Mon., Oct. 15 and which will feature four top retail outlets in the Dallas area: Wal-Mart Plano, Whole Foods Refresh, a flagship Bath and Body Works, and Best Cellars. The NEW Retail Safari will be conducted by WSLStrategic Retail, a leading retail and consumer products research and consulting firm.

The Summit will feature five skill-building breakout sessions and three keynote speakers: Ann Fudge, retired c.e.o. of Young & Rubicam Brands; Fawn Germer, author of the upcoming book The NEW Woman Rules; and women's issues expert Barbara McFarland.

Breakout sessions will include: Life Balance Assessment, presented by Dr. Barbara McFarland; Five Pillars of Health, by Kristen Cooper and Barbara Simkins; Martial Art of Influence by Stuart Heller; Smarter, Faster, Better by Karlin Sloan; and the Connected and Committed Leader by Laura Lopez. The NEW Summit will also include numerous networking opportunities, including meals and a "Connections Cafe" networking area. A program note: Susan Arnold will not appear at this year's Summit due to a scheduling conflict.

The Summit will be followed by an optional Deep Dive Career Management workshop on Wed., Oct. 17, which will help participants understand their work style with a personal Birkman Analysis; maximize relationships, improve communications and effectiveness, and build strong mentor partnerships. The workshop will be conducted by NEW mentoring chair Sandra Bushby, director, women's initiatives for KPMG and a certified Birkman analyst and trainer.

Also new at this year's Summit is the NEW Boutique, a silent auction that will benefit NEW scholarships for outstanding college and university students in food, retail and consumer products-related marketing programs.
