New Stater Bros. Supermarket Will Commemorate Company's 70th Anniversary
COLTON, Calif. -- Regional independent Stater Bros. Markets here plans to open a new 44,000-square-foot full-service supermarket at The Village at East Highlands Shopping Center in Highland, Calif. Nov. 8 in commemoration of the chain's 70th anniversary.
The new features include:
--Service meat and seafood departments
--A hot service deli offering a selection of salads, premium deli meats, domestic and imported cheeses, and sandwiches to go
--A bakery featuring daily fresh-baked artisan breads, cookies, rolls, elegant desserts, and custom-made cakes, including picture cakes
--An expanded produce department featuring more than 800 items
--A floral department offering fresh-cut flower bouquets, silk arrangements, potted plants, and balloons
--A Stater Bros. Super Rx Pharmacy
The store was designed with energy-efficient skylights to incorporate the use of daylight and help the environment.
In celebration of the grand opening, Stater Bros. will make donations to the Friends of Highland Library, for the Children's Book Program; the Highland Police Station, for the Explorer and Reserve programs; Arroyo Verde Elementary School, for the enhancement of its computer lab; and Beattie Middle School, whose band will also perform at the ribbon cutting ceremony.
Stater Bros. operates 162 supermarkets and has more than 17,000 employees.
