New Leaders Take Helm of Produce For Better Health

Mike O'Brien, v.p./produce and floral for Schnuck Markets passed the torch of his chairmanship duties for the Produce for Better Health Foundation's (PBH) board of trustees to Mark Munger, Andrews & Williamson Fresh Produce. O'Brien remains on the executive committee as immediate past chair.

Also, Paul Klutes, of C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc., was elected new vice chairman, and Andrea Astrachan of Ahold USA, was elected secretary/treasurer.

Karin Gardner, communications manager for Oppenheimer, was elected chair of PBH's consumer marketing and communications committee while Suzanne Wolter, director of marketing for Rainier Fruit Co., assumes chairmanship of the foundation's development committee.

Named as at-large members of PBH's executive committee were John Aune, W. Newell & Co.; Jennifer Armen-Bolen, Nunhems USA; Terry Humfeld, Produce Marketing Association; Kim Kirchherr, Jewel-Osco; Roger Pepperl, Stemilt Growers; Tom Stenzel, United Fresh Produce Association; and Gregg Storey, Bayer CropScience.
 
Other committee chairs not serving on the executive committee include audit committee co-chairs Ron Carcoski of Four Seasons Produce, Inc., and Billy Heller of Pacific Tomato Growers; Campaign for Children's Health subcommittee honorary chair Stewart Resnick of Paramount Farms and chair Gregg Storey of Bayer CropScience; membership subcommittee chair Jin Ju Wilder of Coast Produce Co.; research subcommittee chair Barbara Winters of Campbell's; and the channel marketing subcommittee chair Cindy Plummer of the California Table Grape Commission.
