New Jersey Food Council Raises Scholarship Funds to $5K
The New Jersey Food Council’s (NJFC) 2014 holiday party attracted more than 150 industry members that raised funds to benefit the Educational Development Program.
“We are pleased and proud to see how many member companies from across the Garden State came out to support our holiday event this year and raise funds for a worthy cause,” said Linda Doherty, president of the NJFC.
Doherty also announced that due to NJFC members’ generosity, the amount of the scholarships awarded to future industry leaders would be increased. “Thanks to the outstanding success of this program and the financial assistance of our members, we will be raising the amount of our scholarships this year from $2,000 to $5,000. The growth of this program and holiday fundraiser is a confirmation of our members' dedication to the continuing education of our associates and their families,” she said.
The NJFC has more than 1,500 members in the retail, wholesale and manufacturing segments of the New Jersey food distribution industry.
