New Grocery Outlet Store Planned in Oregon

MILWAUKIE, Ore. -- Extreme-value retailer Grocery Outlet will open a new store in Milwaukie, Ore., this Sat. The store's independent operators, Ed and Shelley Whittaker, will preside over a variety of grand opening celebrations that will continue throughout the weekend and over the next several weeks.

The 15,000-square-foot neighborhood store will replace a nearby unit. It is one of nine Grocery Outlets in the Portland area, and 27 operating in the state of Oregon.

Jon Wylie, Grocery Outlet v.p., said the operator's ability to evaluate the needs of customers will help "create long lasting relationships…that enhance their overall shopping experience. I believe that our new store will surprise and please Milwaukie and the greater Portland customers with increased variety delivered with the same commitment to fantastic deals on everyday brands and the friendly customer service they have come to expect from us."

Grocery Outlet currently has 122 stores in seven Western states.
