Natural Grocers to Bow Omaha Location

Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage will open in Omaha, Neb., on Feb, 12. Located at 17602 Wright St., the natural food store will be the company's second location in the state.

Colorado-based Natural Grocers offers only natural and organic products: USDA-certified organic produce, meats from animals raised naturally without the use of antibiotics or hormones, as well as other organic and natural foods free of artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners and hydrogenated oils.

The grocery chain also offers an extensive dietary supplement and body care department, and a large selection of gluten-free foods and other special dietary need products.

"With its vibrant community and so many colleges in the area, Omaha is a great fit for Natural Grocers," said Kemper Isely, Natural Grocers co-president. "We're excited to open our doors and offer affordable options for shoppers looking to help their families be healthy."

In each of its 60 stores in 12 states, Natural Grocers offers free nutritional health coaching - from individualized sessions, to meal planning, to general questions about nutrition and health.

The stores’ checkout are 100 percent free of disposable shopping bags (no paper, no plastic). Whenever possible, Natural Grocers stocks locally made products.

The new Omaha store, which will celebrate its grand opening Feb. 12-17, was built using green features such as energy-efficient motion light sensors, 100 percent post-consumer content tiles, high efficiency heat-exchange systems, polished concrete flooring and commercial-grade LED lights.

In addition, the Omaha store has a community room where residents can come and get a free cup of coffee or tea and use free Wi-Fi access.
