Nash Finch Names New S.V.P. of HR

MINNEAPOLIS -- Nash Finch Co. yesterday named Denise M. Wilson s.v.p., human resources, filling a position that had been vacant since Joe R. Eulberg left the company last year.

"Denise is a seasoned human resources professional with a wealth of experience in organizational effectiveness," said Alec C. Covington, president and c.e.o. of the food retailer/distributor. "Her strong leadership skills and strategic perspective make her the ideal candidate for this position."

Not previously a retail executive, Wilson brings 19 years of human resources experience to Nash Finch, including more than a decade of senior management experience to Nash Finch. Most recently, she was e.v.p. and chief administrative officer NRG Energy, Inc., a wholesale power generation company.

At NRG Wilson was responsible for oversight of information technology, human resources, regulatory and government affairs, and office services. Prior to that position, Wilson served as NRG's v.p., human resources.

Before NRG, Wilson was v.p., human resources at Metris Cos., Inc., and earlier served as director, human resources at General Electric, GE Capital IT Solutions.

Nash Finch's food distribution arm serves independent retailers and military commissaries in 31 states, the District of Columbia, Europe, Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Azores, and Egypt.

The company also owns and operates a base of retail stores, primarily supermarkets, under the Econofoods, Family Thrift Center, and Sun Mart banners.
