Nash Finch Names Dennis Hanley VP/Retail Format Development
MINNEAPOLIS - Nash Finch here has named grocery vet Dennis Hanley to the new position of v.p./retail format development, to play in key role in the execution of the company's strategic plan, Operation Fresh Start.
Hanley was most recently v.p. of Ahold's Giant/Top's subsidiary. Prior to that, he held leadership positions at Winn-Dixie, Woolworth's/New Zealand Ltd. and Farm Fresh. He will report to Alec Covington, Nash Finch's president and c.e.o.
"Dennis brings more than 20 years of industry expertise working across a diversified range of retail formats," said Covington. "One key element in our new strategic plan is to put in place a suite of store types designed to support the success of our independent retail customers. Dennis will be instrumental in developing and implementing these store formats for both our corporate-owned stores and our independent retail customers."
Nash Finch's core food distribution business serves independent retailers and military commissaries in 31 states, the District of Columbia, Europe, Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Azores and Egypt. The company also owns and operates retail stores under the Econofoods, Family Thrift Center and Sun Mart banners.
