More Resignations at U.S. Foodservice

ZAANDAM, The Netherlands -- Ahold yesterday reported two more resignations at its U.S. Foodservice unit in the wake of an accounting scandal that padded profits by some $800 million.

Michael Resnick, chief financial officer, and David Abramson, executive vice president and general counsel, both offered their resignations, which were accepted by Ahold and effective immediately.

Resnick joined U.S. Foodservice in October 2000, and has held several financial capabilities since that time, becoming c.f.o. in 2001. Abramson has been with U.S. Foodservice since July 1996, when he was hired as general counsel, later adding executive v.p. to his duties.
