Mondelez International Names Brian Gladden EVP and CFO

Mondelez International has named Brian Gladden EVP and CFO, succeeding David Brearton, who takes on a new role as EVP, strategic initiatives, beginning Dec. 1.

Irene Rosenfeld, Mondelez International's chairman and CEO, noted that Gladden has a "track record in financial and operating discipline, aggressive cost management to expand margins and fund growth, and building and leading a global business services operation."

She added that Gladden's "experience operating in emerging markets, creating shareholder value and developing talent will greatly benefit our global organization and our shareholders."

Gladden's most recent position was as SVP and CFO of Texas-based technology company Dell Inc., where he led all aspects of the finance function, and was responsible for global information technology, security, facilities, corporate strategy and corporate development. Prior to that position, he served as president and CEO of SABIC Innovative Plastics.

Brearton assumed the role of Mondelez CFO since its launch in 2012. He was named CFO of Kraft Foods Inc. the prior year and helped to lead its division into two separate companies. Throughout his career, Brearton held a series of senior finance roles, including SVP, finance at Kraft Foods International, and corporate controller.

Deerfield, Ill.-based Mondelez International Inc. is a world leader in biscuits, chocolate, gum, candy, coffee and powdered beverages.
