Minyard, Rice Epicurean Go Natural with Tree of Life

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Natural and specialty foods distributor Tree of Life, Inc. here has inked distribution agreements with two well-known Texas retailers: Minyard Food Stores and Rice Epicurean Markets.

Coppell, Texas-based Minyard Food Stores, a 69-store group in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, signed Tree of Life on to serve as its distributor for natural and specialty food products, in a bid to build a franchise in the segment. Minyard operates under three banners: Minyard, Sack'n Save, and Carnival.

"This new agreement allows Tree of Life and Minyard to work closely together with a strong focus on increasing sales," said Brian Evers, regional president for Tree of Life. "Their management team is committed to building a retail group closely connected to its customers. Minyard Food Stores are a retail institution in the Dallas-Fort Worth market."

Tree of Life also scored a four-year distribution agreement extending its relationship with Rice Epicurean Markets, the five-store group based in Houston, that is widely recognized as one of the most innovative independents in the nation.
