Milky Way Ice Cream Bars Debut With a ‘Bang’
To introduce Milky Way Chocolate Ice Cream Bars, the venerable Mars candy bar brand is taking to the road in a fully decked-out, special-edition ice cream truck. According to Craig Hall, general manager at Hackettstown, N.J.-based Mars Chocolate North America, the “tour will help us bring the popular Milky Way taste, along with our delicious chocolate ice cream, to fans across the U.S.!”
Joining in the cross-country fun is actor Kunal Nayyar, who plays an astrophysicist on the popular CBS sitcom “The Big Bang Theory.” Nayyar helped unveil the truck and greeted fans on June 8 at Exposition Park adjacent to the California Science Center in Los Angeles, in tribute to the Milky Way brand’s “out-of-this-world” taste. Ice cream truck visitors received free samples of the new treat, which features chocolate ice cream, a layer of creamy caramel and a smooth milk-chocolaty coating, and were able to take part in fun activities.
Further stops on the tour will include such “other-worldly” locations as Space Center Houston on June 18 and Adler Planetarium in Chicago on June 22.
