Mexico’s Soriana to Deploy New ESL System

Mexican retailer Soriana plans to deploy electronic shelf labels to boost the speed and efficiency of price changes in 46 of its hypermarket and supermarket stores.

The retailer is using the Stockholm, Sweden-based Pricer ESL system, which will be installed during the first quarter of 2010 by TEC Mexico.

“Pricer [ran] a pilot with Soriana several months ago and proved that speed and two-way communication, together with a scalable system, are crucial for integrated retailers,” said Oron Branitzky, VP sales at Pricer.

Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico-based Soriana is Mexico’s second-largest grocery retail chain, with more than 471 stores of various formats in over 138 cities across the country.
