Meijer, Unilever, LeanLogistics to Present at RILA Conference 2010

Regional independent Meijer, Inc. and LeanLogistics, a SaaS transportation technology and supply chain services provider based in Holland, Mich., will co-present an educational session at this year’s Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) Logistics Conference 2010 in Orlando, Fla., today.

LeanLogistics VP of business consulting Stacy Kannawin will share her perspective on the crucial role technology plays in inbound planning for retailers. Kannawin has more than 15 years’ experience in supply chain operations, business consulting and information technology.

Leading the session with Kannawin are Judy Sweetman, director of inbound logistics at Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Meijer, Inc., and Randall Ledet, group manager of transportation at Unilever in Englewood Cliffs, N.J. Their breakout session, “Where’s My Stuff?” focuses on the constructive solutions retailers can employ to significantly increase their purchase order and lead-time dependability, including obtaining visibility of inbound movements and using technology to control inbound shipments while managing the carrier relationship and the transit.

“Managing the ‘final mile’ is critical in the competitive retail arena,” said Kannawin. “Inbound is also one of the least optimized segments of the demand chain. Our technology offers the tools for scalable management, execution and benchmarking across the enterprise.”

The RILA Logistics Conference brings together retail supply chain and logistics executives committed to moving the industry forward. Sessions focus on strategic issues involving distribution, transportation, international logistics and sourcing, legislative and regulatory issues, sustainability, and workforce diversity and inclusion.
