Meijer Said Re-evaluating Stores Management Structure

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - In a bid to boost customer service, Meijer, Inc. said late last week it is re-evaluating the leadership structure at its 179 stores to make sure employees are doing the jobs that best suit their skills, according to local press reports.

Executives at the regional supercenter operator Meijer were not available to provide further detail on Friday.

According to the local press, roughly 25 leadership team members in each store will be evaluated. Each manager will be interviewed, and some may be moved to other positions or stores.

Hourly workers and corporate employees are not being included in the reviews, according to the reports While layoffs are a possibility, job loss should be minimal, the reports said.
