Meijer Plans New IN Ops Facility
Meijer Inc. plans to build a new 45,000-square-foot operations facility in Fort Wayne, Ind., to support its retail stores in that region.
With more than 30 new full-time employees, the new facility will reportedly use advanced technology and automation for processing merchandise for Meijer stores throughout the Midwest.
“We are pleased to continue to invest in the Fort Wayne community,” Frank Guglielmi, director of public relations for Meijer, said in a press release. “Meijer currently has three stores in the Fort Wayne area, so we are familiar with the quality of the area and the workforce, which made the decision very logical for us.”
Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Meijer operates 198 supercenters and grocery stores throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky.
