Meijer, Kroger Stores in Mich. to Add Chase Bank Branches

DETROIT -- Chase will open a dozen more Michigan branches in Meijer and Kroger stores by year's end, to create the state's largest branch banking network with 280 locations.

By December, Chase will have 38 in-store branches in Michigan, including 31 Meijer locations in the Lower Peninsula, and four new Kroger locations in Oakland and Macomb counties. Chase originally announced plans to open branches in 23 Meijer stores between December 2005 and December 2006.

"Customers have welcomed Chase at Meijer locations because they value the one-stop service we provide," said Anthony Glover, regional manager for Chase's retail branch network. "We got off to a great start since opening our first seven branches in Meijer stores last December, and our partnership continues to grow."

Chase will add locations in Southeast, Central and West Michigan Meijer stores this year. In August, Chase celebrated the grand openings of four full-service branches in Meijer stores in Southgate, Taylor, Warren, and Wixom, Mich.

The bank opened its first seven branches inside Meijer stores in Ann Arbor, Greenville, Ionia, Rochester Hills, Westland, Woodhaven and Wyoming in December. In addition to the four locations celebrating grand openings, nine more branches were built this spring and summer in Meijer stores in Auburn Hills, Canton Township, Grand Rapids, Howell, Lowell, Madison Heights, Muskegon, Sterling Heights and White Lake Township.
