Mayfield to Introduce Innovative Ice Cream Carton
ATHENS, Tenn. - A new day is dawning in freezers across the Southeast as Mayfield Dairy Farms introduces the new Clik-Top re-sealable carton for its rectangular package.
The Clik-Top features a convenient break seal and special locking tab that keeps the carton closed and the ice cream fresh. Double-wall construction prevents carton tearing. Mayfield Classic Ice Cream, Mayfield Lowfat No Sugar Added Ice Cream and Mayfield Lowfat Frozen Yogurt lines will be available in the Clik-Top carton, while the Mayfield Select Ice Cream line will continue to be available in a two-piece carton.
"People in our focus groups preferred this new Clik-Top package 29:1 over the old zipper-style package," said Scottie Mayfield, president of Mayfield. "It's just a carton that's easier to open and re-seal. It's exciting to know that the day has passed where folks have to set a pound of frozen food on top of their ice cream just to keep the lid down, or they have to wrap up the carton in a plastic bag," he said.
Mayfield is also bringing a whole new look to its Clik-Top carton, which features bolder, easier-to-read graphics on the familiar Mayfield-yellow background. Color-coded bands at the bottom of the carton help identify the three lines available in the Clik-Top package.
"We're continually looking for ways to improve our service to our retail customers and the loyal consumers who enjoy our products," said Mayfield.
Based in Athens, Tenn., Mayfield Dairy Farms serves eight Southeastern states.
