Martin's Super Markets Readies for Kids' Chef Summer Camp Program

South Bend, Ind.-based Martin's Super Markets' store in Mishawaka, Ind., will host three week-long Chef Camps at its School of Cooking Classroom this summer.

Each five-day camp will feature an age-appropriate theme and kitchen-skill-building program, for which each chef camper will receive a chef coat and hat to keep.

Camp themes and camper age groups include:
Take a Bite Out of Books - Designed for kids entering kindergarten through entering 2nd grade, Chef April Howell will teach campers about food and fun centered around some of their favorite books, like The Very Hungry Caterpillar, If you Give a Mouse a Cookie, any many more. Registration fee is $125.

Chef in Training - Designed for kids entering 6th grade through entering 8th grade, Chef Greg Beachey will instruct a hands-on experience for pre-teens and teens that are serious about cooking.  Each day will feature a focus on a different aspect of the culinary arts, such as knife skills, baking, soups, seafood and more. Registration fee is $150.

Around The World - Designed for kids entering 3rd grade through 5th grade, Chef April Howell will take campers on a journey around the culinary world to explore foods and cultures of different regions, including the Mediterranean, Asia, Latin America and Western Europe -- then back to America.

Martin's Super Markets has 20 stores in South Bend, Mishawaka, Granger, Elkhart, Goshen, Plymouth, Nappanee and Logansport, Ind., and Niles, Stevensville and St. Joseph, Michigan.
