Martin’s Appoints Killelea as VP Ops

More than four decades after starting as a grocery manager, Tom Killelea has been promoted to vice president of operations at Martin’s Super Markets.

Killelea will oversee all aspects of store operations for the Indiana-based 21-store grocery chain. “Tom’s dedication and commitment to Martin’s have played significant roles in our continued growth,” said Rob Bartels, Martin’s president and CEO. “In his new position, Tom will have the ability to expand his vision to include not only our current stores, but also have a hand in helping shape the future of the company. His expertise and knowledge will be a valued contribution to the work of our current senior staff.”

Killelea joined the company in 1969 as grocery manager at the Martin’s store in Mishawaka, Ind. He has served in a variety of positions within the company since then before joining the corporate office staff as group manager of operations in 1997. Last year, Killelea was named director of operations.

Founded in 1947, Sound Bend, Ind.-based Martin’s Super Markets currently has 21 stores in South Bend, Mishawaka, Granger, Elkhart, Goshen, Plymouth, Nappanee, Logansport and Warsaw, Ind.; and Niles, Stevensville and St. Joseph, Mich.
