Marsh Supermarkets to Change Banner Names
INDIANAPOLIS -- Marsh Supermarkets, Inc. here will change the names on more than 100 of its stores in Indiana to either Marsh Hometown Markets or Marsh The Marketplace, while the chain's O'Malia's Food Markets' name will remain the same.
Last month, Marsh announced it was changing the name of its smaller, no-frills LoBill grocery stores in the Muncie, Ind., area into Marsh Hometown Markets along with a store renovation campaign that would add more products to the deli, bakery, and produce departments.
Florida-based Sun Capital Partners acquired Marsh last September. In May, the company announced a "deconsolidation" of the Marsh and Village Pantry units, and has since sold off its former McNamara Floral division and Butterfield Foods central kitchen facility.
