Marsh Opens New Hometown Markets

INDIANAPOLIS -- Marsh Supermarkets, Inc. here opened three more Marsh Hometown Market conversions, bringing to 38 the number of rebranded and updated stores in the chain's storewide fleet.

The latest trio of Indy-based stores, all of which were formerly traded under the LoBill banner, received facelifts of new fixtures, enhanced product offerings and improved lighting.

"Between the three locations, Marsh committed more than one-half million dollars to update the stores," said Frank Lazaran, Marsh's chairman, c.e.o. and president.

The completion of the latest three store conversions strengthens the retailer's commitment to the city of Indianapolis, said Lazaran, noting that along with significant store upgrades and capital investment, there is also a continued commitment focusing to high customer service levels.

Coinciding with the celebration, Marsh is launching two special customer programs, including a New Mom's program that provides savings on items new parents frequently purchase and a Senior Rewards program that provides 5 percent discounts on Thursdays for shoppers 60 years and older.

The ongoing store conversions are part of a previously announced comprehensive store improvement strategy for 2007 and beyond.

The company runs 91 Marsh Supermarkets, seven LoBill Foods and five O'Malia's Food Markets in Indiana and Ohio, as well as Crystal Food Services and Primo Banquet Catering and Conference Centers.
