Marsh Offers Program to Help Fund Education
INDIANAPOLIS -- Marsh Supermarkets yesterday kicked off the Fresh Ideas for Education program, for the 2006-07 school year. The program, now in its second year, helps schools earn points toward classroom equipment.
Customers register their 12-digit Fresh Idea Card along with their designated school. Each time the customer shops, the school earns points that can be used for educational, technological or extracurricular equipment. Last year, 425 schools in 70 Indiana communities received equipment totaling more than $300,000.
The earning period for schools is Oct. 1, 2006 through March 31, 2007. Schools interested in participating in the 2006-2007 program must register by Oct. 31. Those that register by Sept. 30 will receive a 2,500-point bonus.
Customers who sign up for the program by Nov. 15 will be entered in a drawing for several prize packages, including an iPod shuffle and Marsh gift cards totaling $1,000, $500, $250, or $125. As part of the national "Frequent Shoppers for Education," one family will win free groceries for one year.
Marsh Supermarkets, Inc. operates 68 Marsh supermarkets, 38 LoBill Foods stores, eight O'Malia Food Markets, 154 Village Pantry convenience stores, and two Arthur's Fresh Market stores in Indiana and western Ohio. The company also operates Crystal Food Services, Primo Banquet Catering and Conference Centers, Floral Fashions, and McNamara Florist.
