Manischewitz Hosts In-store Celebration of Jewish American Heritage Month

The Manischewitz Co., a trusted brand in specialty kosher foods for over a century, is showing its support for Jewish American Heritage Month (JAHM) in May by acting as a major corporate sponsor for the event and forming a partnership with 30 U.S. retailers that includes a consumer promotion program and an inaugural retailer display contest.

The Secaucus, N.J.-based company has developed various in-store merchandising materials reflecting the spirit of JAHM, among them poster boards and shelf talkers. Contest entries will be judged according to size, product assortment and creativity. Retailers with the biggest, most innovative displays will win cash prizes to be donated to their respective preferred charities. First prize is $5,000, second prize is $2,000, and third prize is $1,000. In addition, Manischewitz will hold a catered lunch for all of the associates of the first-prize-winning store.

“Our company has played a significant role in the history of Jewish American culture,” noted Manischewitz CEO David Yale, adding that the observance “gives us reason to take pause and honor the contributions that Jewish Americans have made to our society.”

JAHM is a national month recognizing the over 350-year history of Jewish contributions to American culture in fields ranging from sports and arts and entertainment, to medicine, business, science, government and the military.
