Mango Board to Host Fla., Industry Outreach Meetings

The National Mango Board's (NMB) latest industry outreach meetings are scheduled for July 15 in Fort Lauderdale and July 16 in Miami, Fla.

The meetings, which share with importers and wholesalers in top port cities in the U.S. the details of the organization's mango programs, aim to meet the needs and interest of industry members to improve mango quality and superiority in the U.S. marketplace and increase consumption.

During these meetings, the NMB will also discuss the Ripe and Ready to Eat Mango Initiative with ripening expert Dennis Kihlstadius from Produce Technical Services. Kihlstadius will share his findings and recommendations for stores and distribution centers from extensive testing of fruit temperature throughout the distribution system.

The July 15 meeting will take place at the Marriott Fort Lauderdale North at 6650 North Andrews Avenue; the July 16 meeting will be held at the Marriott Miami Dadeland at 9090 South Dadeland Boulevard.
