Lund’s/Byerly’s Shoppers Can Link e-Coupons to Credit, Debit Cards

Independent grocers Lunds and Byerly’s have launched a new digital coupon program with Boston-based Linkable Networks that allows consumers to have coupons delivered right to their debit or credit card just by linking the card online to the offer with a click of the mouse.

Called “Linkables,” the program consists of digital coupons loaded directly to a consumer’s debit or credit card of choice. Once the consumer registers their card for free at MyLinkables.com, they can click on any available offers. After the consumer uses the registered debit or credit card, the savings are automatically credited to the card with savings appearing directly on the cardholder’s monthly statement – no paper coupons necessary.

"Card-linked offers allow consumers to reap the benefits of coupons without ever having to bring a paper coupon into a store," said Tom Burgess, CEO of Linkable Networks. "If they see an offer they like, they simply click or text to link it to their card. When they shop in store, the savings are automatically credited back to their card. It’s just that easy. Linkables were designed to offer consumers a time-saving way to save money, and includes a mobile app (available on iOS and Android) so consumers can access and link offers on the go. Offers at Lunds and Byerly’s are refreshed bi-monthly and represent all of the store’s different retail categories, from grocery to personal care items. Offers are available both at SKU-level, product level and store-level.

Linkable Networks’ technology allows consumers to link SKU-level, store-level and manufacturer-level offers directly to their credit or debit card of choice, with no need to clip coupons, print coupons or load to a store’s loyalty card – and the discounts appear directly on the consumer’s bank statement. Consumers can register through their bank, retail ads or at www.mylinkables.com and can also share them via Facebook and Twitter.
