Lowes Foods to Re-Enter South Carolina
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Lowes Foods, a regional supermarket chain based in Winston-Salem, N.C., reportedly is planning to open a store in South Carolina by next spring.
Lowes, which operates about 100 supermarkets in North Carolina and Virginia, closed its stores in Columbia and Myrtle Beach, S.C., in the late 1970s.
The new store is planned for the Stockbridge Commons shopping center in Tega Cay, S.C., according to local reports.
