Lipari Foods Acquires Clover Mountain Foods

Midwest food distributor Lipari Foods has acquired Bridgeville, Penn.-based Clover Mountain Foods, effective as of Jan. 13.

Noting that Warren, Mich.-based Lipari aims to expand its service area and position itself as the premier perimeter of the store and specialty distributor, Tony Franchi, Lipari's VP of sales, said, "We are excited to team up with a solid, service-driven company like Clover Mountain Foods.

"Combining what they have established with all that Lipari brings to the table means increased value for all of our customers," Franchi added.

Lipari and Clover Mountain have a similar product portfolio of local and national brands and share established relationships with many manufacturing partners, according to the companies.

In December of 2014, Lipari Foods acquired Sun Prairie, Wis.-based Soderholm Foods, adding to its natural, organic, vegetarian and gluten-free offerings. The company purchased I & K Distributors in April of 2012.
