LiDestri Completes Zeigler’s Acquisition

LiDestri Food & Beverage, is the largest privately held contract manufacturer of pasta sauces and salsas in United States, has acquired M.H. Zeigler’s & Sons LLC., the largest producer of fresh apple cider in the country.

In existence for over 75 years, Lansdale, Pa.-based Zeigler’s produces and bottles a variety of fresh and shelf-stable juices, lemonades, ice teas and other beverages under the Zeigler’s brand, and for both private label and contract manufacturing customers.

“Zeigler’s well-known brand, combined with LiDestri’s capabilities and channels, provides for a very exciting growth opportunity for this business,” noted Dave Stoklosa, director of business development at Fairport, N.Y.-based LiDestri

The owner and operator of six manufacturing facilities in Fairport, Rochester and Dundee, N.Y.; Fresno, Calif.; Pennsauken, N.J.; and now Lansdale, LiDestri manufactures more than 40 million cases of products. The company’s core competency is the manufacture of hot filled and retorted (low acid) foods and beverages in glass and plastic containers for both retail and foodservice customers. LiDestri additionally packs and blends spirits, oils, vinegars and cooking wines.
