Leadership Expert to Keynote GMA Chairman’s Lecture
Simon Sinek, leadership expert, optimist and author, will deliver the keynote address at the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) Chairman’s Lecture on Jan. 19, 2013, in Scottsdale, Ariz.
“The CPG industry puts a premium on innovation and forward-thinking leadership, and Mr. Sinek will share with our industry his secrets for inspiring companies and their people to achieve an even higher level of success and growth,” said Pamela G. Bailey, president and CEO of Washington, D.C.-based GMA. “His selection as the Chairman’s Lecture speaker provides a valuable opportunity for attendees to transform how they think about leadership.”
During the lecture, Sinek will examine the leaders and companies that make the greatest impact in the world, and discuss the common patterns in how they think, act and communicate. A trained ethnographer and writer of "Start With Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action," Sinek presents insights grounded in the biology of human decision-making, and offers insights into why some leaders, messages and organizations are more inspiring than others.
Sinek has met with leaders and organizations as varied as Microsoft, Mars, 3M, the New York City Ballet and the U.S. Congress. He has also shared his ideas with the United Nations, the U.S. Air Force and NASA.
“With his unconventional views on business and leadership, Sinek will provide unique insight into the common factors that all great leaders -- those who are able to inspire -- possess,” added Bailey.
The GMA Chairman’s Lecture, an exclusive gathering of the most influential leaders in the food, beverage and consumer products industry, will take place Jan. 18-19, 2013.
