Law Firm Launches Walmart Probe

Law Offices of Howard G. Smith in Bensalem, Pa., is investigating potential claims on behalf of shareholders of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. concerning possible breaches of fiduciary duties by the Bentonville, Ark.-based mega-retailer or its fiduciaries.

The investigation will look into possible violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), in the wake of allegations published in The New York Times that Walmart’s largest foreign business unit, Wal-Mart de Mexico, repeatedly engaged in bribery during 2005 to obtain construction licenses, apparently with the knowledge of the company’s top officials.

Walmart shareholders or those who want more information can contact the firm at 215-638-4847, 888-638-4847 or [email protected].
