Lance's Market Owners Sell 9 Stores

HUNTINGDON, Ind. -- Another grocery family turns the page. Dan and Doug Lance sold their nine-store operation here last this week. The Lance brothers, as the last members of their family to own stores, thanked their associates and the communities that supported their stores over the years.

The brothers sold the stores to Todd Taylor and Clete Miller. "It was important to us that someone purchase the company who has an interest in carrying on our traditions as well as keeping all of our valued associates, and we are confident that Todd Taylor and Clete Miller will do just that," the brothers said in a statement.

Taylor and Miller, who have 40 years of combined experience in the industry, intend to keep the store names and formats intact, according to published reports, which also noted that all company associates would be staying on with no changes to their salary and benefits structure. The nine stores, which will continue to be supplied by Supervalu's Fort Wayne distribution center, operate under the Lance's NewMarket, Mor For Less, and Lance's banners.
