Kroger Ratifies Deal with WV Local
Kroger associates working at the Cincinnati-based grocer’s Mid-Atlantic Division stores in the West Virginia area have ratified a new labor agreement with United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 400.
“We are pleased to reach an agreement that will provide our associates wage increases, high-quality affordable health care and a company-funded pension at retirement,” said Jay Cummins, president of Kroger’s Mid-Atlantic Division. “I want to thank our associates for their patience during this process and for the excellent service they provide every day to our customers and our company.”
The agreement covers 3,893 associates working in 41 stores located in Charleston, Morgantown, Clarksburg, Beckley, Huntington and Parkersburg, W.Va.; Proctorville, Belpre and Marietta, Ohio; and Ashland, Ky.
The Kroger Co. employs more than 338,000 associates who serve customers in 2,439 supermarkets and multidepartment stores in 31 states under two dozen local banner names including Kroger, City Market, Dillons, Jay C, Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer, Fry’s, King Soopers, QFC, Ralphs and Smith’s.
